Day 1 and done!

My feet hurt

I’m not very fit. But to be fair it’s also pretty hot today. I woke up with the best plans to walk around as much as possible at work. But it was hot and I also needed to do less active tasks like put babies to sleep and sit close to particular children who are still learning to share and keep their hands to themselves.

Still it wasn’t to hard to do a few laps of the yard here and there throughout the day. I easily did 7500. I’d say ‘without a sweat’ but it’s bloody humid. I was pretty much drenched in my own sweat by mid morning.

A meandering walk after dinner took me ‘round the block’ a few different routes and put me over the 10 000 line. I might have even enjoyed it. Not the bit with the overgrown grass where I was certain a snake would leap out and devour me whole, but there was a beautiful breeze this evening.

I must say just a short walk cleared my head and had me feeling more alert than probably the rest of the day. I even managed to collect some beautiful native flowers along the way. I’ve been promising the pre schoolers an arrangement for them to draw a still life of for ages.

So even though my feet hurt and 10 000 probably doesn’t seem that much to some, I’m committed to do it again tomorrow and every day this month. It’s a bit shit but it’s for a great cause. If you’d like yo donate to Lifeline click the link on my page. See you tomorrow!
